EB-5 Program Extended, for Now!
Sept. 30, 2016
Yesterday, President Obama signed into law a Continuing Resolution that extends the EB-5 program until December 9, 2016. The passage of the Continuing Resolution temporarily avoids a government shutdown. A shutdown would prevent the filing of most employment-based immigrant visas and any nonimmigrant visa that requires a Labor Condition Application (LCA). At this point, there is no change in the EB-5 program, however, we anticipate there to be significant changes in the program in the near future. Most notably, we anticipate an increase in the amount of investment. In order to avoid the upcoming program overhaul, we strongly recommend you to contact our office immediately to discuss the options of beginning the EB-5 application process.
We will continue to monitor the EB-5 program and provide updates on any developments. If you have specific questions, please call Attorney Nicole Fink.
