John Foley of Foley Law Offices Appears in Articles on Both Sides of The Atlantic
Sept. 23, 2015
Our principal attorney, John Foley, has been in the news this past week on both sides of the Atlantic.
John was featured in a documentary that aired on the Irish national broadcaster, RTÉ, earlier this week. The hour long report centered on the arrest and jailing of Irish nanny, Aisling Brady McCarthy, for the death of a 1-year old child in her care.
McCarthy was jailed for over two years but was allowed to return to Ireland after the charges against her were dropped by prosecutors. In the documentary, produced by Fine Point Films of Belfast, John said, “McCarthy’s immigration status should have nothing to do with the criminal charges.” He also said, “McCarthy should have been granted bail while she waited for her case to go to trial and she could have been confined to her home and monitored with an ankle bracelet.”
On the U.S. side, John was in a photograph (below) that appeared Monday in the Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly newspaper. John is on the planning committee for the Golden Bridges Conference which will take place in Boston on October 21-22, 2015. The Golden Bridges Conference will bring business and trade leaders from Belfast and Boston together and it will feature a performance by the 40-member Belfast Community Gospel Choir. The conference is being organized by Mairtin O Muilleoir, the former Mayor of Belfast and the publisher of the Irish Echo newspaper in New York, NY.
John will also be hosting a concert by the Belfast Community Gospel Choir on Thursday, October 22nd at 7 PM at the Irish Cultural Centre of New England (ICC). The concert is free and will take place at the Irish Cultural Centre located at 200 New Boston Road in Canton, Massachusetts.
