New Photo Requirements for Passport and Visa Applicants!
Oct. 19, 2016
The U.S. Department of State (DOS) is instituting a “no eye glasses” policy in all visa photos beginning November 1, 2016. From November 1, to November 30, 2016 photographs with eyeglasses may be accepted. After the soft one-month enforcement period, all photos with eyeglasses will be rejected and could cause a delay in your application.
The only exceptions are for the rare circumstances of medical necessity when an applicant has had recent ocular surgery and eyeglasses are necessary to protect his/her eyes during urgent travel. In these circumstances, the applicant will need to provide a medical statement signed by a medical professional/health practitioner in these cases.
